While the general public is confined to the wooden shop staircase, William Curtis Rolf was granted exclusive personal permission by proprietor Prince Louis Albert de Broglie to curate and orchestrate these specimens across private, restricted residential quarters and grand staircase landings. Photographed over a decade-long field study from 2005 through 2018, this rare, behind-the-scenes access makes the resulting collection entirely unique.

Grand-scale prints from this archival collection are held in prestigious private collections around the world. They have been repeatedly acquired by the Ralph Lauren Architecture and Art Acquisition departments for permanent display in their international flagship stores and featured in high-volume limited editions by Restoration Hardware and 1stdibs.
